The Planning Begins

When I first got engaged in January and set a wedding date for September, I thought that the entire planning process was going to feel rushed.  I could not have been happier or more excited that in eight months I would be able to call Wallace my husband, but the thought of planning an entire wedding in such a short time was a bit overwhelming.  I immediately threw myself into full-fledged wedding planning mode; scouring magazines, books, and the internet for inspiration.  I discovered wedding blogs and became slightly obsessed with them. And when I say slightly obsessed, I mean that every waking non-working hour of my life was spent combing through them for ideas.  I stopped cooking dinners and Wallace was forced to fend for himself with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  I am not even exaggerating when I say that very new blog I discovered would consume me for hours on end.

Thankfully, my obsession paid off.  By looking at pictures of other couple's weddings and reading about their experiences, I started to get an idea of what I wanted for our wedding.  It amazed me how many creative ideas were out there.  I took parts and pieces of other weddings and changed them to reflect our style.  And now, two months later, most of our vendors have been booked and many of the little details have been planned to make the day truly ours.

The last two months has felt like a whirlwind.  Since so much has happened in such a short amount of time, Wallace suggested I start a blog so that I could look back and remember it all.  I know the next six months are going to go just as fast, if not faster, than the first two, and I want a place where I can record our experiences and share them with family and friends.  No matter how crazy the planning process gets, I want to be able to write about it, unwind, and remember what is really important - that on the night of September 16, Wallace and I will walk away as husband and wife.
